Pass - What happens if a student does not have access to or forgot his device at home?

If a student does not have access to their own device or forgot it at home, there are a couple of ways they can still navigate the Pass system:

  • Use a Kiosk: Schools can enable the Kiosk module, which turns a single, shared device (like an iPad or Chromebook) into a station where students can create and end their own passes. To use a Kiosk, a student simply selects their destination and authenticates using one of several methods: entering their Student Number, scanning a barcode or QR code, swiping a magnetic strip ID card, or entering their email along with a Kiosk passcode.
  • Teacher Passes: If a Kiosk is not available, a teacher, admin, or staff member can create a Teacher Pass on the student's behalf directly from the adult's own Dashboard.

A Note on Appointments: It is important to keep in mind that if a student does not have a device with them, they will not be able to see or receive in-app notifications for upcoming Appointment Passes. In these situations, teachers will need to take on the responsibility of monitoring the dashboard and verbally notifying the student when it is time for their appointment.
