Pass - What are the system requirements for Pass?

Because Securly Pass is primarily a web-based application, it does not have extensive local system requirements and can run on any modern device with internet access. To ensure your school has a smooth experience, please review the technical requirements below. Following these guidelines will help prevent common connection issues and ensure notifications arrive on time.

🌐 General Access & Browser Support

Since Securly Pass is cloud-based, you can access it from any modern device with an active internet connection. For the best performance, we recommend the following:

  • Supported Browsers: Use the latest versions of Google Chrome or Safari.

  • Mobile App: While you can use a mobile browser, you can also utilize the Securly Pass app for a native experience.

    • iOS: Available on the Apple App Store.

    • Android: Available on Google Play.

🛠️ Network & IT Configuration

If your school's network is restricted, your IT department must "allowlist" specific domains and ports. This ensures the system updates in real-time and sends important alerts.

Required Domains

Ensure the following domains are accessible through your web filter:

  • pass.securly.com (and all subdomains)

  • securly.com

  • support.securly.com

  • securly.zendesk.com

  • eduspiresolutions.org

Email Notifications

To ensure teachers and admins receive pass requests and alerts, allowlist these email sending domains:

  • @securly.com

  • @securly.zendesk.com

  • @amazonses.com

  • @gainsightapp.com

Firewalls & SFTP

For data syncing and secure connections, please prioritize the following:

  • Port 22: Required for SFTP data transfers.

  • Port 443: Required for the NAT Gateway.

🖥️ Visitor Management & Kiosk Hardware

If you are using Securly Pass for visitor check-ins or student kiosks, please ensure your hardware meets these specifications:

Tablet Requirements

The Securly Visitor self-serve app is compatible with:

  • iPad: Must run the current iOS version or the two previous versions.

  • Android Tablets: Must run Version 8.0 or higher.

Supported Label Printers

The following printers are officially supported for visitor badge printing:

  • Brother: QL-820NWB Desktop Label Printer (Requires a 2.4 GHz wireless band).

  • DYMO: LabelWriter 450, 450 Turbo, or 550 Turbo.

[!IMPORTANT] Kiosk Network Settings: The WiFi network used for kiosks and printers must allow pop-ups and notifications and must not block print devices or local printing traffic.
