INTRODUCTION
The Usage Explorer page is where to find useful reports and data to assist with the analysis of technology use. There are several reports to better understand websites, applications, popular usage time, and aggregate student volume that can be filtered by school or time.
FILTERS
- View: The ability to toggle between viewing All activities or only those for which you have set up a Subscription for.
-
School: The list of individual school(s) on which you can report
- If you’re an Administrator, you can select the name of an individual school to see the data for just that school; All Schools (the entire district) is the default selection
- If you’re a Tech Coach, you must be assigned to a school to view Reveal; Tech Coaches assigned to multiple schools will see the first school listed by default
- Report: From a 'Last 3 days' selection to a Last week or Last month reporting timeframe, as well as a custom date range selector (v1 introduced in Sept 2023). 'Last 3 days' is the default selection and is updated every 24 hours. Note that the 'Last 3 days' option does not mean real-time data, but rather data over the most recent three-day period. With custom date range you can tailor the data range outside of standard periods. If your selected range does not include any data, the system automatically adjusts to the closest time period that has data. This lets you analyze student device usage data that is more up-to-date, allowing for more current and relevant insights.
-
Activity: The list of website URLs and application names for which you can review usage data; All Activities is the default selection
- To create an Activity Report for a specific website or application, click the Activity menu and select the desired website URL or application name
- To create an Activity Report for all websites and applications, click the Activity menu and select All Activities

- Students Monitored: Total number of students monitored that week by Reveal; differs from “Devices Monitored” if/when students log in to more than one device
- Average Daily Screen Time: Average amount of time per week (in hours) students were actively using their devices
-
Students Not Monitored: Total number of students that were not monitored that week by Reveal
- Note: If a student was not monitored, it does not necessarily mean their Teacher(s) did not attempt to monitor them; rather, it means that the student's device did not connect to any monitoring session(s).
- Websites Visited: Total number of unique URLs accessed by student devices that week
-
Applications Used: Total number of unique applications accessed by student devices that week
- Note: The Application Used section will be hidden for schools/districts that only support Chromebook devices as the Chromebook OS currently prevents monitoring activity outside the Chrome browser.
APPLICATION PROFILE
When reviewing the usage data for a single application, the Reveal solution may display a new widget called "Application Profile". This widget displays helpful information about the selected application or website to speed up your evaluation process.

-

-
Privacy Policy: The privacy policy link directs users to the application's official privacy policy page. This is crucial for education leaders, as it allows them to review the data handling practices of the application and ensure they align with their school or district's privacy requirements.
