Is your Pass Dashboard loading more slowly than usual or not updating? Are names jumping on the dashboard? Do you need to refresh more often that usual?
We know how important every second is in a busy school environment. Please walk through these troubleshooting steps designed to help you regain optimal speed.
Quick Browser & Connection Fixes
Often, local browser settings or temporary connection hiccups are the main culprits behind slow loading times.
Verify Browser Compatibility: Ensure you are using the latest version of Chrome or Safari.
Clear Cache and Cookies: Old data can "clog" your browser. Clear your history and cookies, then restart the browser.
Test a Different Browser: If Chrome is slow, try Safari (or vice-versa) to see if the issue is browser-specific.
Wired vs. Wireless: If possible, connect your device via an Ethernet cable. This rules out signal interference as a cause.
Check Your Network Environment
School networks can experience heavy traffic that impacts performance.
Test Outside the School Network: Log in to Pass using a cellular hotspot or your home Wi-Fi. If it runs quickly there, the issue likely lies with your school’s network.
-
Consult IT: If the dashboard is only slow at school, ask your IT department to check for:
Network Congestion: Too many devices on one access point.
Bandwidth Limitations: High traffic during certain periods of the day.
Physical Obstacles: Walls or distance from the router affecting signal strength.
Optimize Device Performance
Power-saving modes can sometimes limit the processing power available to your web browser.
For Google Chrome Users
Click the Three Vertical Dots (⋮) in the top right corner.
Select More Tools → Performance.
Locate the Power section and toggle Energy Saver to OFF.
For Windows 11 Users
Disable Energy Saver: Go to Start → Settings → System → Power & Battery. Click Energy Saver and toggle it to OFF.
Adjust Power Mode: In the same Power & Battery menu, find Power Mode. Change the setting from "Best Power Efficiency" to Balanced or Best Performance for both "Plugged in" and "On battery" options.
Technical & Admin Configurations
If you are an administrator or have access to device settings, ensure these technical requirements are met:
-
Allowlist Essential URLs: Ensure your firewall is not throttling or blocking these domains:
https://pass.securly.com(and all subdomains)https://securly.comhttps://support.securly.comhttps://securly.zendesk.comhttps://eduspiresolutions.org
Hardware Age: Check the age of the device. Older processors or limited RAM (less than 4GB) may struggle with modern, data-rich dashboards.
