Follow

The Drive SDK API in the G Suite admin console allows third-party applications to work on files stored on the Google Drive. This authorization is essential to help Securly access the Google Docs on the school’s Google Drive and is a crucial step in enabling Auditor+ for your school.

To enable the Drive SDK API:

  1. Log in to admin.google.com
  2. Navigate to Apps > G Suite > Settings for Drive and Docs > Features and Applications
  3. Scroll down to Drive SDK and verify if the checkbox is selected.
  4. If not, select the checkbox for Drive SDK to enable access to files on Google Drive.
  5. Click ‘Save’ to save the settings.

Along with enabling Drive SDK API, it is also essential that you provide Securly access to the relevant school GDrive data. This will allow Auditor+ to begin scanning GDocs for sentiment analysis or identify images with nudity on GDrive. Without this access, your Auditor+ setup would be incomplete.

To authorize GDrive data access:

  1. Log in to admin.google.com
  2. Navigate to Security > Settings > Advanced Settings > Manage API client access
  3. In the ‘Client Name’ field input the following: 107250024911550132389
  4. In the ‘One or More API Scopes’ field input the following comma-separated URL string:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file,https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.metadata

Note: Make sure that you do not include any spaces between URLs to avoid errors in setup.

  1. Click ‘Authorize’.
