You might come across some of your users attempting to bypass filtering and the extension by executing a javascript code in their address bar. While this workaround can be easily found on the net, you can just as easily stop it from impacting your filtering with a modification in your Google Workspace settings.
Navigate to your Device > Chrome > Settings, in your Google Workspace admin account, and then further go to User & Browser settings > URL Blocking > URL Blacklist. In addition to other URLs mentioned in the Chromebook Best Practices guide, add javascript://* to the text field and save. Your student will not be able to block the Securly extension. (Check out this article for a comprehensive list of URLs to block.)
