Why are phone numbers required during visitor check in?

Schools can choose to collect phone numbers for visitors entering the campus by enabling the ‘Enable phone number entry’ field from the Kiosk settings in the Visitor web app. Having the phone number for the guest during check-in allows the school to contact them in case of an emergency or security situation on campus. This helps ensure that everyone on campus, including guests, are safe and receive all necessary assistance.

The phone numbers are not added to any of the watchlists or lists that receive alerts from Visitor. As such, guests will not receive any sex offender alerts or watchlist alerts while on campus. The front desk staff or other school admins can look up guest phone numbers from the guest records and contact them if required.

Parents will also receive one-time passwords for security purposes in case of multiple student pick-up or if a non-guardian attempts to pick up their child. Learn more here.

(Note that Securly Visitor cannot verify or guarantee the veracity of the phone number provided.)
