Dyknow enables Teachers to monitor student Chromebook, Mac, and Windows device activity from nearly any device and browser type.

 

ALL DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS

Device Management

  • All student devices must be school-managed, including BYOD environments

Screen Resolution

  • Portrait: At least 768 x 1024
  • Landscape: At least 1024 x 768

Network Information and Recommended Speed

  • No local/district server; Amazon servers located in US
  • At least 4 Mbps up/down Internet for 500 concurrent connections
  • Average student upload is 1kb once an hour
  • All product data communications are HTTPS / port 443
  • CPU is less than 5%

Teacher Devices and Web Browsers

There is no Dyknow Cloud Connector installation on teacher devices. Teachers and other faculty members access the Dyknow portal (dyknow.me) on any type of device via one of the following supported browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 5+
  • Firefox

 

Student Web Browsers

Teachers can allow/block websites when student devices have the Dyknow Cloud Connector installed on their devices and are using the following supported browsers:

  • Chrome on Windows, ChromeOS, OSX
  • Microsoft Edge on Windows
  • Firefox on Windows only
  • Safari 5+ on OSX

 

Student Windows Device Install

  • Windows Operating System (OS):
    • Windows 8
    • Windows 8.1
    • Windows 10 32bit/64bit
    • Windows 11
  • English/US Localization
  • Minimum 512 MB RAM (32bit) or 2 GB RAM (64bit)
  • Once installed, the Dyknow Cloud Connector (a pre-packaged .msi file) will automatically update, unless the school administrator changes this setting

Student Chromebook Device Install

  • ChromeOS 34 or later (no pre-release versions)
  • English/US Localization
  • Once installed, the Dyknow Cloud Connector (Chrome extension) will automatically update; alternatively, the school admin can manage it through the Chromebook Management Console

Student Mac Device Install

  • macOS 10.12 or greater (always the latest three (3) macOS); click here to find out which macOS you're using
  • English/US Localization
  • Minimum 1 GB RAM
  • Once installed, the Dyknow Cloud Connector (a .PKG file) will automatically update

Student iPad Install

  • No longer supported due to iPadOS restrictions
