Dyknow’s Import Manager feature enables Dyknow Administrators to easily import data from PowerSchool into Dyknow.
Note: Your PowerSchool data must include username in the student_web_id field if students at your school are using Windows and/or Mac devices.
This document is a resource for Dyknow Administrators to understand how to:

Prerequisite: Manage Roster Import Settings
DOWNLOAD DYKNOW POWERSCHOOL PLUGIN
Follow the steps below to download the PowerSchool plugin from Dyknow.
1. Click the gear icon ; you will be redirected to the Admin Settings.
2. Click the Import Manager tab.
3. Click Setup.
4. Locate the Configure PowerSchool section.
5. Click to download the PowerSchool plugin; a .zip file will begin downloading immediately that contains the PowerSchool plugin.
6. Open the downloaded .zip file window and extract the PowerSchool plugin (an .xml file).
Note: You will need access to this .xml file once you have logged into PowerSchool.
7. Continue to Install Dyknow PowerSchool Plugin.
INSTALL DYKNOW POWERSCHOOL PLUGIN
Follow the steps below to install the PowerSchool plugin downloaded from Dyknow.
1. Log in to PowerSchool as an Administrator.
2. Click System (from the main menu, under Setup).
3. Click System Settings in the Server section.
4. Click Plugin Management Configuration; you will be redirected to the Plugin Management Dashboard.
5. Click Install.
6. Click Browse from the Plugin Install page.
7. Locate and select the PowerSchool plugin (an .xml file) you downloaded from Dyknow.
8. Click Install; the PowerSchool plugin will begin installing immediately and appear on the Plugin Management Dashboard in the Installed Plugins section.
9. Click the Enable checkbox on the Plugin Management Dashboard to enable the PowerSchool plugin.
10. You may be asked to confirm your giving 3rd party plugin access to your data. If so, select the Enable button.
11. Continue to Generate PowerSchool Integration Credentials.
GENERATE POWERSCHOOL INTEGRATION CREDENTIALS
Follow the steps below to generate your PowerSchool integration credentials.
1. Log in to PowerSchool as an Administrator.
2. Click System (from the main menu, under Setup).
3. Click System Settings in the Server section.
4. Click Plugin Management Configuration; you will be redirected to the Plugin Management Dashboard.
5. Click the respective Enable checkbox on the Plugin Management Dashboard to ensure the PowerSchool plugin is enabled.
6. Click on the newly enabled Dyknow PowerSchool Plugin.
7. Click Data Provider Configuration to view the OAuth credentials that were generated for the PowerSchool plugin.
8. Note your PowerSchool URL (at the top of your screen), PowerSchool Client ID, and PowerSchool Client Secret.
Note: You will need these credentials to complete the PowerSchool integration in Dyknow Import Manager.
9. Continue to Enter PowerSchool Integration Credentials.
ENTER POWERSCHOOL INTEGRATION CREDENTIALS
Follow the steps below to enter your PowerSchool integration credentials in Dyknow:
1. Click the gear icon ; you will be redirected to the Admin Settings.
2. Click the Import Manager tab.
3. Click Setup.
4. Locate the Setup Integration section.
5. Enter your PowerSchool URL into the Integration URL field.
Example: https://myschoolname.powerschool.com
6. Enter your PowerSchool Client ID into the Integration Key field.
7. Enter your PowerSchool Client Secret into the Integration Secret field.
8. Click to Select Type of Student Devices from the Student Devices field; review options below:
- Only Chromebooks (No Windows and/or Mac devices used)
- No Chromebooks (Only Windows and/or Mac devices used)
- Mix of Chromebooks and non-Chromebooks
9. Click Continue: Process Import.
10. Continue to Process PowerSchool Data in Dyknow.
PROCESS POWERSCHOOL DATA IN DYKNOW
Follow the steps below to process your PowerSchool data in Dyknow.
1. Click the gear icon ; you will be redirected to the Admin Settings.
2. Click the Import Manager tab.
3. Click Import.
4. Click Process Import.
5. Once your import is complete, you will receive an Import Results confirmation email.
Note: If your importing data includes errors or any changes that exceed Import Thresholds, you will receive a Check Your Data email in addition to the Import Results confirmation email. To review and validate your import errors, read the Validate Paused Imports article.
DISABLE POWERSCHOOL INTEGRATION
Please contact Securly Support to disable your PowerSchool integration.
