Dyknow Classes enable an unlimited number of Teachers to monitor assigned students.
This feature allows teaching assistants, gifted and talented teachers, special education teachers, principals, tech coaches, etc. to assist teachers in keeping students on task using Dyknow's active and passive monitoring capabilities.

HOW MANY TEACHERS CAN EACH CLASS HAVE?
There is no limit to the number of teachers a class can have.
HOW MANY TEACHERS CAN MONITOR A CLASS SIMULTANEOUSLY?
All teachers assigned to a given class can monitor that class at the same time.
CAN A TEACHER SEE ALL OTHER TEACHERS THAT ARE ALSO ASSIGNED TO THEIR CLASSES?
Yes, any Teacher assigned to a Class can identify the other teachers assigned to that Class via the Edit hyperlink for that respective class on their My Classes page. The Manage Teachers section will display the list of assigned teachers.
CAN MULTI-TEACHER CLASSES BE COMBINED?
Yes, Classes with multiple Teachers assigned can be combined so long as those classes share the exact same Teacher assignments.
DO ALL TEACHER ASSIGNED TO A CLASS HAVE THE SAME PERMISSIONS?
No, all Teachers assigned to a Class do not have the same permissions.
All Teachers assigned to a Class can:
- Edit the Class' student roster;
- Combine Classes;
- Enforce a Blocking Plan during a monitoring session; and,
- Make temporary changes to a Co-Teacher's Blocking Plan during a monitoring session.
However, only a SIS-assigned Teacher can edit the Class name and add other Teachers to a Class. Manually-assigned Teachers cannot assign additional teachers to a Class, nor can they remove SIS-assigned Teachers from a Class.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIS-ASSIGNED TEACHERS AND MANUALLY-ASSIGNED TEACHERS?
SIS-assigned Teachers can edit a Class name. SIS-assigned Teachers can add other Teachers to and remove other Teachers from a Class roster.
Manually-assigned Teachers cannot add other Teachers to a class, nor can they remove a Teacher from a Class.
HOW DO MULTIPLE TEACHERS GET ASSIGNED TO A CLASS? / HOW DO I ADD ANOTHER TEACHER TO A CLASS?
The Teachers of a Class gets assigned in one of two ways:
- Via mass-import; or,
- Via manual assignment in Dyknow.
Note: Not all SISs allow for multiple teachers. Not all SISs allow for the identification of a “primary” teacher.
MASS IMPORT
Depending on the identified Import Method, Dyknow Administrators have the ability to assign multiple Teachers to a Class via mass-import.

MANUAL ASSIGNMENT
Dyknow Administrators, Tech Coaches, and Teachers have the ability to manually assign additional Teachers to a Class.
- Dyknow Administrators can manually assign additional Teachers to any Class within their school (district).
- Dyknow Tech Coaches can manually assign additional Teachers to any Class within their assigned school(s).
- Dyknow Teachers can manually assign additional Teachers to any of their currently assigned classes.
HOW DO I IMPORT MULTIPLE TEACHERS FOR A CLASS?
Depending on the identified Import Method, Dyknow Administrators have the ability to assign an unlimited number of Teachers to a class via mass-import.
API INTEGRATIONS
- PowerSchool does not support the identification of multiple Teachers and therefore additional Teachers must be assigned manually for schools using the PowerSchool API integration.
- Blackbaud has no method for identifying the Primary Teacher of a Class. When multiple Teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
- Skyward has no method for identifying the Primary Teacher of a Class. When multiple Teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
- Infinite Campus uses the “primary” field to identify the Primary Teacher of a Class. When multiple Teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
EXPORT FILES
- OneRoster Files use the “primary” field returned on the record to identify the primary teacher of a class. When multiple teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
- Clever Files imports support these optional columns for importing multiple Teachers: Teacher_2_id, Teacher_3_id, … Teacher_[n]_id, etc. When multiple teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
DYKNOW FILES
- When multiple Teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
CUSTOM FILES
- When multiple Teachers are listed for a class, all will be assigned to the class and displayed in alphabetical order.
CAN CO-TEACHERS EDIT A DEFAULT BLOCKING PLAN?
Yes, when multiple teachers are assigned to a class, each can edit the Default Blocking Plan.
Co-teachers can edit the auto-enforced Default Blocking Plans in and out of class (but not delete or add it to another class).
