Why don't my Chromebook users get the geolocation tracking request?

Chromebook users with the Securly Chrome Extension (v02.97.00 and above) installed on their devices do not display the geolocation tracking request as the extension gets its permission from the admin during installation and tracks the device location automatically.

You can also force geolocation tracking for all your Chromebooks via Google Workspace. This eliminates the need for students to accept location tracking.

To force geolocation via Google Workspace:

1. Log in to your Google Workspace account
2. Navigates to Device Management > Chrome Management > User Settings > Security > Geolocation
3. Select 'Allow sites to detect users' geolocation' from the drop-down geolocationnewnov18.jpg
