Deploying SmartPAC to iPads using JAMF Now MDM

To deploy SmartPAC to iPads using JAMF Now, first you will need to build a .mobileconfig file using Apple Configurator (Mac) or iMazing (PC).

  1. Open Apple Configurator, click File > New Profile (Command or Control + N), and name the profile Securly SmartPAC
  2. On the left side, find the Certificates tab, and click continue.
  3. Upload the SSL certificate: securly_ca_2034.der

  1. Next, click the Global HTTP Proxy tab on the left, and Configure
  2. Change Proxy Type to Auto and paste your SmartPAC URL in the Proxy PAC URL field. (The SmartPAC URL can be found by an Admin in Securly Filter > Settings > General)

  1. Click File > Save

Next, sign in as an admin at https://login.jamfnow.com/

  1. Navigate to Manage > Blueprints. It is recommended to test the SmartPAC with a single device before scoping it to the entire fleet.
  2. Create or Select a Blueprint for testing, click Custom Policies > Add a Custom Policy, and upload the Securly SmartPAC config file.

  1. Click the three dots on the appropriate Blueprint and click Sync

For testing:

  • Visit unsafewebsite.com, which should trigger a block page.
    • If you see a purple screen, check the iPad > Settings > General > VPN and Device Management > JAMF Now > Restrictions, scroll to the bottom of the page to ensure the Global HTTP Proxy setting displays the SmartPAC URL
  • Perform a Google search to ensure proper functionality.

If a connection error occurs, visit www.securly.com/ssl, which will verify the presence of the SSL Certificate.
