When you encounter an issue where a class does not appear or shows 0 users in Securly Classroom, it may be due to the class being archived. Archiving is a feature that allows teachers and administrators to clean up their class lists by removing old or unused classes from the active view in Securly Classroom.
Understanding Archiving 1
- Archiving a Class: When a class is archived, it is hidden from the Classes menu. This does not delete the class but simply removes it from the active class list.
- Effect on Class Schedules: Archiving a class will also disable any applicable class schedules associated with that class.
- Manual Archiving: Classes can be archived manually in Securly Classroom. This is often done at the end of a term or school year to help organize and prepare for new incoming classes.
Identifying and Resolving Archived Classes 2
- Check for Archiving: If a class is not showing up or shows 0 users, check to see if the class has been archived by mistake or intentionally.
- Unarchiving a Class: If a class has been archived and needs to be active again, you can easily reverse the process by unarchiving the class. This option is available from the list view for classes.
- Sync Issues: Ensure that the class is properly synced with your Student Information System (SIS), such as PowerSchool. If the class is active in PowerSchool but not in Securly Classroom, archiving may be the cause.
