How do I prepare my Securly On-Call configuration for back-to-school?

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, it's important to ensure that Securly On-Call is fully optimized to support you and your students. Here are some key steps to help you get started and ensure our On-Call team can support your school effectively:

  • Re-sync Organizational Units (OUs)
Ensure that your OUs are correctly synced across Securly Filter and Aware. Then, check your On-Call settings to ensure the correct OUs are being monitored. This will help apply the appropriate policies and ensure that all relevant OUs are selected in On-Call.
  • Update Admins and Faculty Groups
Review and update the list of admins and faculty groups in your Securly Aware settings. This ensures that the right people have access to student wellness data.
  • Law Enforcement Notifications
Please note that we will no longer call law enforcement unless they have been specifically added as a contact in your On-Call settings. This change is to ensure that only the appropriate contacts are notified in case of an emergency.
  • Update Your CSV Files
Make sure your parent/student matrix CSV is up to date with current information, including addresses, school names, and grades. This helps us provide accurate and timely support. If you are interested in setting up SIS sync, reach out to your Securly CSM.
  • Check District and School Contacts
Verify that all contact information for your district and school is current. Remove any contacts who no longer work for the school or district to avoid any confusion during critical times.
  • Customizing Contact Schedules
You can now define a schedule for when each contact should be notified. This can be customized by category, risk assessment, and time/day of the week. For detailed information, please refer to this article.

We are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.
