Securly believes in letting schools decide the nature of the activity displayed to parents in the Activity logs. Schools can choose to display all student activity (all locations), only home activity and educational sites visited, or only home activity. This customization affects both the activity report emails and the activity logs on the Parent Portal.
In addition to these settings, school admins can further control the specific categories of information shared with parents through weekly activity report emails or the Home app. Admins have the flexibility to select individual categories for both in-school and out-of-school activities, ensuring that only relevant reports and activities are displayed.
To configure these settings, log in to your Filter console and navigate to the Parents page. Scroll down to Report settings to customize the reports. Here, you can specify different activities to show depending on whether the child is in school or outside school by selecting the relevant categories under the ‘Outside school’ and ‘In school’ tabs.
By default, the system is set to ‘Show all activity’, but schools have the option to disable all activities or to create custom configurations. The activity matrix lists all categories, including types of activities like searches, sites, social posts, wikis, YouTube, and any Aware-flagged activities (if the school also uses Aware). By selecting the checkboxes for each option, admins can ensure only those activities are visible to parents in the Home app and weekly reports.
Once configured, admins can save these settings as applying only to in-school activities, only out-of-school activities, or both. This selection will determine how the email reports and Home app activity displays are modified accordingly.
