Securly Filter includes a unique feature that allows admins to have websites uncategorized by Securly (at the time of browsing) to be sent to PageScan and categorized. You need to contact our Support team at support@securly.com to enable this feature.
This feature is designed to help schools that want to block access to uncategorized sites and also allow end-users to ask for an automatic categorization without involving the Filter admin. Any site that does not match our current categories and is otherwise clean will be added to our General category and will therefore be accessible.
Once the feature is made available to you, you can toggle the 'Request categorization using PageScan' field on the Global Settings page and get started.

With this, end-users will see the 'Request access' button for sites that would normally be blocked because they are uncategorized.
If the requested website is not sorted into any of our blocked categories by PageScan, it will become available to the user when they visit it again after some time. If not clean, the page will continue to be blocked as per the category.

In the Filter admin user interface, the Category Lookup tool also has the ability to automatically categorize sites that are submitted.
The system will update the page with the new categorization once PageScan has been able to process the request.
