Package 1 Release Notes ( Q1 - 2021)

REL-2966: Microsoft Azure users are unable to utilize the Securly OU structure and corresponding filtering policies because Azure does not have the same OU structure as G Suite. Instead, Azure users have Security Groups. With the introduction of Security Groups for Azure, schools using Azure can map students and staff to new or existing policies created in the Securly admin panel. It also lets Azure users prioritize policies for users that are mapped to the policies of more than one Security Group. This gives admins the flexibility of customizing filtering for students who need to be part of multiple groups without compromising on overall student safety.

REL-3202: It was found that even on call customers were being displayed an advertisement to purchase on call in all the email alerts they received. This was both redundant and irritating for the customer. Therefore, only customers who have not purchased on call so far will be displayed such advertisements in their email alerts going ahead.

REL-3322: This card ensures that whenever a teacher/admin or a on call analyst searches for a student/user, the complete OU hierarchy including the parent OU are displayed to the admin to make it easier for them to identify who the user is.

REL-3351: It was observed that when a user was displayed the blocked page due to keywords present in the Global Block list, the policy details always mentioned Parent Policy instead of the correct one. This has been fixed.

REL-3329: There was a problem with new OUs not being assigned the Default policy when they were imported to the Safety Console. This meant that the admin could not see any policy assigned to the OU. This issue has been fixed and the Default policy will be applied to new OUs after import as intended.

REL-3327: This card fixes issues with which OUs are displayed when searched in both the Staff and Aware tabs. It also covers the implementation where the complete OU hierarchy is displayed instead of just the child OU making it easier for the admin to identify who the user is.

REL-3319: This card ensures that all flagged emails are translated in both Spanish and French and implemented for Spanish and French users accordingly.

REL-3295: This card fixes multiple translation gaps and some incorrect validation messages in the Nucleus UI.

REL-3289: This card fixes the issues with blocked keywords with special characters not being filtered; http://google.com written with some variation of small and capital letters being added to the Block list; and some translation issues on UI among others.

REL-3275: This fixes the multiple logging issue for Facebook where visits to Facebook were being logged multiple times.

REL-3266: This fixes multiple issues including content fixes on Nucleus UI and the problem with YouTube video id being clipped when adding it as short URL.

REL-3242: There was an issue with websites added by Alexa being logged as Uncategorized instead of Popular sites in the activity log. This has been fixed.

REL-3225: It was reported by some customers that customer Ids and domains were being duplicated causing confusion and inconsistencies in usermap records. This issue has been fixed.

REL-3185: This card fixes an issue with incorrect time zone being displayed for blocked activity in email notifications.

REL-3156: It was observed that blocked suspicious sites were being logged in the activities as only Blocked. They should also be logged as Flagged. This has been fixed and blocked suspicious sites will be logged as both blocked and flagged hereafter.

REL-3348: When a user received a blocked page while out of campus and so not on school policy, the blocked page details would incorrectly display the school policy instead of parent policy. This has now been fixed.

REL-3303: It was found during QA testing of Security Groups that the Global Allow/ Block lists were not working properly when the parent policy was applied. (This issue was found due to package 1 code and is being fixed in the same package. As such, there has been no customer impact.)

REL-3294: This fixes the issue where Smartpac users on iPad were not being displayed the login page, but instead, a blank page would appear. It also fixes another issue found during Security Groups testing that displayed the wrong policy on the blocked page in place of the Security Group's policy.

Home releases

REL-3317: With this release, the Home app will now be available to everyone in French as well. All features and functionalities including email communication with parents will be available in French by changing the app language to French.

REL-3144: This release will allow Securly to send push notifications with clickable links that open specific modules or documents instead of directing the user to the app Home page. It also updates how Allow and Deny lists handle domains by allowing only valid domains to be added, instead of the earlier option to add them as keyword. e.g. facebook instead of facebook.com
