Why can’t I change the priority of the default policy?

Policy prioritization applies only to the custom policies assigned to security group users on-campus. The Default Policy applies to users if no other policy is assigned to them, so its priority cannot be altered. Similarly, no priority can be assigned to:

  • Guest Network Policy - This applies to guests who are not part of the Azure active directory and security groups.
  • Take-Home Policy - This applies to the user only at home and no conflict of policy is expected off-campus.
  • Per IP policy - Applies to users only on a specific IP address and conflict of policy assignment is not expected.
