Overview
Risk Alerts allow teachers and administrators to receive notifications when specific conditions are met during a Rhithm assessment. There are three different types of Risk Alerts:

Emoji assessment alerts: Alerts recipients when specific emoji responses are selected within a specified time frame

Tempo Score alerts: Alerts recipients when a Tempo Score drops by a certain amount

Note alerts: Alerts recipients when specific keywords and/or negative sentiments are expressed in the note(s) of an assessment
Creating a new Risk Alert
To create a new Risk Alert, go to the Risk Alert Center from the left-hand menu, then click "New Risk Alert" in the top-right corner. Next, choose whether you'd like to set up an Emoji assessment alert, Tempo Score alert, or Note alert.
Emoji assessment alerts
Emoji assessment alerts allow you to receive a notification after specific emoji responses are selected during an assessment. The image below outlines the required fields and various options for creating an emoji assessment alert.

Title: The title of your alert. This is only visible within your account and the accounts of the alerts' recipients. This is not visible to students.

Watch List: Click "Select" to choose the users that the Risk Alert will monitor. Depending on your role, you can select individual students, teachers, staff, grades, classes, or custom groups.

Emoji responses: Select the emoji responses to monitor in the Risk Alert, such as "hungry", "tired", or "racing thoughts."

Frequency: Choose the number of times the response must be selected in order for the Risk Alert to trigger.

Times/Days

Times: This relies on the number of times a response was selected, even if the response was recorded on the same day. (Eg. 2 times within 1 week.)

Days: This relies on the number of days within a certain timeframe that a response was recorded. (Eg. 2 days within 1 week)

Timespan: The amount of time in which Rhithm will monitor how frequently a response is chosen

Unit of time: Days, weeks, months, or years

Example: 2 times within one day, 3 days within 1 week, 6 days within one month

Recipients: Click "Select" to choose the users who will be notified when the Risk Alert triggers

Notification type: Choose in-app, email, or web push

Notification time: Select specific times to receive notifications. If no times are selected, they will be delivered at the nearest half-hour interval.
After selecting all customization options above, click "Save" to save the Risk Alert.
Tempo Score alerts
Tempo Score alerts allow you to receive a notification if a user or group's Tempo Score drops by more than a specified number over a week or month.
Note: Tempo Score risk alerts are sent the week/month after they are first created.

Watch List: Click "Select" to choose the users that the Risk Alert will monitor. Depending on your role, you can select individual students, teachers, staff, grades, classes, or custom groups.

Tempo Score drop: Select the drop in Tempo Score value for which to trigger this alert

Unit of time: Select if you'd like to monitor a drop in Tempo Score week over week or month over month

Example: 20 points from one month to the next

Recipients: Click "Select" to choose the users who will be notified when the Risk Alert triggers

Notification type: Choose in-app, email, or web push
After selecting all customization options above, click "Save" to save the Risk Alert.
Note alerts
Note alerts allow you to receive a notification when a student enters a note with negative sentiment as well as monitor specific keywords within a note.

Title: The title of your alert. This is only visible within your account and the accounts of the alerts' recipients. This is not visible to students.

Watch List: Click "Select" to choose the users that the Risk Alert will monitor. Depending on your role, you can select individual students, teachers, staff, grades, classes, or custom groups.

Monitor for negative sentiment: Rhithm uses natural language processing to analyze sentiment within a student's response

Risk words/phrases: Select from a list of words/phrases to monitor or add in your own. More info here!

Correct spelling/grammar errors: Check this if you'd like Rhithm's AI to include notes that contain misspellings of your risk words

Recipients: Click "Select" to choose the users who will be notified when the Risk Alert triggers

Notification type: Choose in-app, email, or web push

Notification time: Select specific times to receive notifications. If no times are selected, they will be delivered at the nearest half-hour interval.
After selecting all customization options above, click "Save" to save the Risk Alert.
Risk Words/Phrases
Rhithm contains a library of risk words/phrases you can choose to monitor and the option to add in your own custom words/phrases.
Note: This list is provided as a courtesy and is by no means exhaustive. We recommend adding words and phrases relevant to your students' needs.
After clicking "Select" you can click the checkboxes next to the words or phrases you'd like to include in the Risk Alert. Click the plus icon shown below to add a new phrase. When adding a phrase, you'll have the option of specifying if the phrase is in English or Spanish.
